Located on the Eil Malk island in Palau, the Jellyfish Lake is a sanctuary for millions of jellyfish secluded from predators, thanks to the lake having been separated from the ocean.
Swimming with these placid creatures is allowed in the lake. To preserve the ecosystem, however, scuba diving is strictly prohibited.
Mikeyk has recently posted a video on Vimeo showing a man swimming among the jellyfish, the creatures barely minding his presence. It looks like a stunning experience, something I would give anything for.
The video shows that the world has so much to offer – we just have to open our eyes and explore. And well done to Palau, whose people have made it possible for tourists to know what it’s like to be amongst one of the most majestic creatures in the world.
